Kei Kamara & Obrey say Leone Stars deserve to lose to Niger

Leone Stars first XI against Niger

Leone Stars captain Ibrahim Kargbo alias Obrey and USA based Kei Kamara have both said that they deserved the result they got in Niamey infavour of Niger last weekend in a 2012 African Cup of Nations group G qualifying match.

The two players admitted that Niger were the better side as they dominated the match.

"Leone Stars didn't play to win but the Nigerians in contrast played very well and got what they wanted," said Kei Kamara.

He added: "Our chances are now slim and it'll be very difficult for us to qualify."

On his path, Karbgo who is based in Azerbaijan said: "The players including myself should first of all take responsibilty for the defeat because we didn't play well. We lacked committment in the match," said Kargbo.

He added: “Players such as Medo Kamara, Strasser, Woobay and Hadji didn't live up to expectations."

"The referee was given Niger undue advantage but we expected that because we were playing away. We'll try to win our remainning matches and see what will happen.

Porbosky attributes Leone Stars' defeat to bad positioning of players

Mohamed Bangura alias Poborsky has critised the positioning of certain players in the Leone Stars team against Niger last weekend in Niamey in a 2012 African Cup of Nations group G qualifying match.

The Swedish-based striker who accounted for Leone Stars’ only goal in the match said some of the players were used out of position and that was one of the reasons why they lost 3-1.

“I'm disappointed that we lost and one of the reasons for the defeat was because some players were used out of position," said Bangura, adding that "It was also the main reason why I didn't score more goals. The supply root was cut off."

But Bangura who was in tears after the match refused to name the players who he believes were used out of postions.

He was however happy for scoring his first goal in his international career in his fourth appearance for Leone Stars.
