Boa everyone I have traced my African ancestry to Sierra Leone and the Mende Tribe. I visited Sierra Leone last year in December and it was a wonderful experience. I stayed for three weeks and visited Lumbley beach, beach No 2 and many other places. I got a chance to briefly meet the
president and some members of his cabinet. I was saddened by the poverty that I witnessed especially with the children. When I came home I vowed to not only return to Sierra Leone to do business but started a campaign in my t-shirt shop http://www.kindredgear.com to sell a million t-shirts to help bring fresh water to villages in Sierra Leone. I hope others will join me as I don't plan on stopping with just water. I will get involved with other projects as well to help rebuild my ancestral home. I hope you will support my cause.

Good luck! And thanks for helping our dear Salone...we need all the help we can get.
The Mendes have contributed a lot to Sierra Leonean history; for example it was Sir Milton Margai who led Sierra Leone to independence. His brother succeeded him as s president. You have a lot to proud of and a rich heritage. You should indeed visit the south.
