Got a call earlier by a concerned Sierra Leonean about an article on the Washington post on the MATERNAL MORTALITY in our homeland. After I hang up I visited the site with my iphone and was able to locate the article. It is really sad that 1 out of 8 women die giving birth. That sound like an epidemic to me. The usual stuff here in NJ. Every July 4th we have SLANO (Sierra Leonean American National Organization) doing the July 4th Picnic for the community. And they have been very consistent with it too. We had both police and park rangers helping with traffic and making sure that only folks with parking decals for the event can access that part of the...

Some of our forums have been retired. Some of them over time become close and closer to other forums. Some becomes less active etc. Fewer forums may also make it easy to navigate and concentrate our discussions.

I will be returning to the job today after the short break as a result of the death of my sister. No matter what happens life events always seem to fall back into place. You continue your daily activities despite the odds. I still feel a lot of sadness in me and hope I will not be cranky at the job...or staring lustily into blank walls.
